Creativity and curiosity are like 2 peas in a pod.

The creativity part is you.  It’s you driven by your passion. The passion that will drive your curiosity. And by curiosity I mean abounding curiosity; the one that makes you question why we keep doing things the same old way when maybe there is a better way.

Know what you don’t know. Don’t be afraid to ask questions! Successful entrepreneurs are confident, but not egotistical to the point that prevents them from seeing the big picture and ultimately making the best decisions for the business.

Starting your own business is finding that “thing” that represents you. It’s having a vision. And most importantly? Clarity around that vision. It is crucial to have a crystal clear vision around who you are, what you want to do and where you want to go.

Ir’s about developing a strong brand that will influence your target customers and works overtime to engage those that may not have been targeted at all.

Don’t kid yourself…starting a business is a lot of work. Anyone that tells you it’s not is either lying or has never actually started themselves. The hours are long, sacrifices are great and you are facing new problems and challenges every day with seemingly no end. You need to be tenacious beyond belief.

True entrepreneurs never, never, never quit. Never.

Keep it simple and don’t think “thinking outside the box” think “there is no box” and experiment with new products and new services. Figure out what opportunities are available to you to cash in on! Don’t wait and start NOW!

As Brian Holmes, CEO, HootSuite said: “You need to have passion. There is no specific DNA that makes up a specific role in a startup or to be an entrepreneur. If you’re passionate about what you’re doing, there shouldn’t be anything that can get in your way”
